The guidelines of the Environment and Forest ministry which clearly stipulates a ban on transporting sand in uncovered vehicles.
Still such open transportation of sand on uncovered trucks could be seen on the four lane NH-30.
The above photograph is of sand being carried illegally on an uncovered truck in broad day time near Bhikhua village which is just about five kilometres from the toll gates. How are such trucks allowed to cross the toll gates?
Besides, there is no patrolling to check such illegal activities and other traffic violations in the 50 km stretch of the toll road. Presumably this cannot happen without the connivance of the authorities with the connivance of the sand mafia.
Otherwise how can one explain such illegal activities in broad daylight?
